About Leading Ladies Outdoors

Leading Ladies Outdoors has long been a dream of Tammy Koenig. Fueled by her love of the sport she has taken her passion to its highest level. Once an anti-hunter, Tammy now has harvested over 100 whitetail deer including three Pope & Young bucks and two Pope & Young Black Bear. With an insatiable appetite for bowhunting that has spanned over 40+ years, she has harvested everything from elk to wild hog and even alligator with her trusty Mathews bow.

She is an outdoor enthusiast who has received national recognition for teaching women bowhunting classes and sharing her expertise in whitetail hunting through seminars and key note speaking events across the country. A certified National Bowhunter Education Foundation and USA Archery instructor, she has also taught women bowhunting for the National Wild Turkey Federation’s Woman in the Outdoors.

In 1991, Tammy instructed the very first UW-Stevens Point’s Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) clinic (now being held throughout the US and Canada). This officially recorded her as the first woman in the WORLD to instruct an all woman bowhunting class. In 2000, she was voted BOW’s teacher of the year! She has also proudly held a spot on Mathews hunting pro-staff since 1994.

Tammy has been a professional hunter with her hunts airing on several television shows over the past 25 years on the Outdoor channel, Sportsman channel and Pursuit channel including her own television show Leading Ladies Outdoors which was hosted by Tammy and her hunting companion, her daughter Brittany. Tammy is also an outdoor writer with her articles appearing in many national hunting magazines as well as book publications over the years.

In 2018 Tammy built LEADING LADIES ACADEMY, a 5,000 square foot lodge on 145 acres in Fall Creek, WI dedicated to teaching women bowhunters. The lodge is equipped with a large indoor classroom and three archery ranges! Tammy LOVES to share her passion for the sport and her enthusiasm is nothing short of contagious!
